I have been to several chinese restaurants in the uk before. down in cardiff, london, and a couple in york, but this one is easily the best ive had in my life so far. Incredible quality and very fair price. With how good the food and the service was I was ready to gladly pay a tip, but they dont even charge one. In a place as good as this one, that quite suprised me. Trust the house specials.

Our dining experience at 食尚 Shi Shang Chinese Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and attentive service from a highly professional team. Their knowledge and recommendations enhanced our enjoyment of the meal. The authenticity of the cuisine was truly remarkable. Each dish was a flavor-packed journey that transported us to the heart of China. We were particularly impressed by the sizzling beef and fried pork with sweet sauce along with the chilli and salt chicken. The leisurely pace of the evening allowed us to savor every bite and enjoy the company without feeling rushed. We left the restaurant with full and satisfied stomachs, and a wonderful overall impression of the restaurant. Highly recommended!

Excellent service and food, very lovely staff I couldn't be more satisfied. I was here with a Chinese friend, the atmosphere was cosy and inviting, and it was reassuring to see the cutlery taken straight from the disinfection cabinet. The Traditional Chinese Menu was delightful, bursting with flavour, and truly made my day! I genuinely look forward to returning for another visit!

We received a lovely warm welcome when we popped in during the day to book a table for later that evening. When we went back at 7pm, we were again greeted warmly. This was our first visit to Shi Shang and we can highly recommend it. The staff were friendly, attentive and fun. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. quite possibly the best restaurant in york, certainly the best chinese restaurant. went there for a date just yesterday, the plates were hot, you got a little wet towel. the staff were the friendliest ive ever met, the service was quick and felt truly personal, last but certainly not least, the food was to die for! all we did during this meal was discuss just how delicious every single piece of this meal was.
